Who We Are - Hats 4 Hope
Our Story
Hats 4 Hope was founded by brothers Zachary and Eli Sontag.
Eli was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the age of 12 in August of 2023. Almost immediately after his diagnosis, Eli began chemotherapy as part of his two-and-a-half-year treatment plan. As a side effect of the chemo, Eli lost his hair. It was at that time that he realized that he "looked sick" and people would know he had cancer. He just wanted to look like everyone else, so he began wearing hats to blend in.
It was this moment when Zach and Eli decided they wanted to help other kids who were fighting their battle with cancer as well. They wanted cancer kids to know that they were not alone and that a fun hat could help them. Together they formed Hats 4 Hope to collect and distribute hats to other kids with cancer.
